We went on a hike this month to Little Salmon which is one of our favorite spots to go camping. It is an absolutely wonderful spot to go camping and there is not usually many other people going through that area. On top of that, it is of course free. I will post more pictures of this trip in a later post.
If you are wondering how to get to this wonderful spot you can follow these directions:
From Sussex follow the signs to Poley Mountain. Pass Poley and you will then pass a few more roads on the left. There will be road on the left to take. The road is marked with a sign that says "Adair's Wilderness Lodge". Follow this sign. There is another sign for when the road turns to the right. Follow the sign for food. Eventually you will come to Adair's. Continue to drive past Adair's.
Drive for a little bit more and you will pass a ranger station on the left. Where the road forks right there, take the left hand side. You will then pass a few roads on the right and past a lake. Take the right turned on the road called "little salmon river". You then drive for a bit on this road, pass another lake and make a left turn when you see a small sign labeled "Martin Head". The sign is small so watch for it.
You drive for a bit and go over a little bridge. Take the second right (not the first one). There should also be a yellow sign at this turn that says Fundy Footpath or Dustin brook. You will drive down this road for while. Eventually the road will come to an end with a 90 degree turn to the left. There should be a sign right there saying Fundy Footpath and Dustin brook access trail. Park the car there. Follow the yellow blazes 2.5 km to Dustin Brook. It takes you right to the campsite.
